Compliance in Kenya

  • Opt-out: Kenyan operators do not require an opt-out method in messages; a subscriber who wants to stop receiving traffic from a specific sender ID dials 45695#(SENDERID), for example 45695#AYOBAME, and information about opted-out subscribers is known only to the operators.
  • Sending times: Marketing traffic cannot be sent from 8pm to 6am, and operators can impose a fine and block the sender ID for violations.
  • Restricted content: Gambling · Adult content
  • Betting content is allowed.

These rules are what we generally check against, however they may not be up-to-date. We'll always keep you informed of what is needed for each destination throughout any registration process.
