## Sender ID Types

### Alphanumeric (Your brand name as the sender) — After registration

- Your brand name as the sender, with no reply path.

### Long code (VMN / phone number) — Replaced in transit

- Needed for two-way messaging and replies.

### Short code (Five-digit sender) — Replaced in transit

- Best for high-volume campaigns.

Sender ID registration is required by Kenya's networks. We handle the paperwork, and our own KYC and Sender ID verification applies to every account on top for your safety and security.

## Kenya's mobile networks

One flat 20.15p rate covers every network we reach in Kenya.

- Bharti Airtel Kenya — 20.3M subscribers
- Telkom Kenya — 1.5M subscribers
- Equitel — 1.5M subscribers

## Compliance in Kenya

- **Opt-out:** Kenyan operators do not require an opt-out method in messages; a subscriber who wants to stop receiving traffic from a specific sender ID dials 45695#(SENDERID), for example 45695#AYOBAME, and information about opted-out subscribers is known only to the operators.
- **Sending times:** Marketing traffic cannot be sent from 8pm to 6am, and operators can impose a fine and block the sender ID for violations.
- **Restricted content:** Gambling · Adult content
- Betting content is allowed.

These rules are what we generally check against, however they may not be up-to-date. We'll always keep you informed of what is needed for each destination throughout any registration process.
