Compliance in Saudi Arabia

  • Sending times: Promotional and marketing SMS is only allowed from 07:00 to 22:00 Saudi Arabia time zone (GMT +03:00).
  • Registration: URLs must be registered and approved by the operators before sending to avoid filtering.
  • Generic sender addresses are no longer allowed; the sender ID should be the brand sending the SMS, and it is highly recommended to use the brand's name as the sender address.
  • Sender addresses used with promotional content must include the postfix AD at the end, formatted as either "-AD" or " AD", for example Sender-AD or Sender AD.
  • The sender address plus the "-AD" or " AD" suffix cannot exceed 11 characters in total.
  • The sender must add the "-AD" suffix themselves; it is not added automatically when transactional traffic is pushed via DND filtering.
