## Sender ID Types

### Alphanumeric (Your brand name as the sender) — After registration

- Your brand name as the sender, with no reply path.

### Long code (VMN / phone number) — After registration

- Needed for two-way messaging and replies.

### Short code (Five-digit sender) — After registration

## Compliance in Singapore

- **Opt-in:** Senders must have clear and unambiguous consent, in written or other accessible form, before sending to any number on the Do-Not-Call Registry.
- **Opt-out:** Marketing SMS must include "Reply U to Opt-Out" in the message.
- **Restricted content:** Religious content · Gambling · Adult content · Political content · Money lending
- Marketing SMS must include <ADV> at the start of the message.
- A Do-Not-Disturb Registry has been in effect since 2014 under the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA), and organizations in breach may be fined up to SGD 1 million per contravention.
- The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) requires banks to remove clickable links from SMS sent to retail customers, a rule that applies only to the banking industry.
- For non-banking senders, operators perform URL scanning as mandated by the regulator IMDA, so some URLs may be blocked.
