## Sender ID Types

### Alphanumeric (Your brand name as the sender) — Replaced in transit

- Your brand name as the sender, with no reply path.
- Networks overwrite the sender name in transit; recipients see a number instead.

### Long code (VMN / phone number) — Replaced in transit

- Needed for two-way messaging and replies.

### Short code (Five-digit sender) — Replaced in transit

- Best for high-volume campaigns.

Sender ID registration is not required in Syria. Instead, we approve all senders ourselves: PureSMS's own KYC and Sender ID verification applies to every account before a single message is sent for your safety and security.

## Compliance in Syria

- **Restricted content:** Marketing and promotional content (blocked by operators)
- **Registration:** It is recommended to register all message contents to avoid blocking or filtering.
- Generic and numeric sender addresses are not permitted; only alphanumeric sender addresses using the brand's name should be used, for example Company X for Company X's traffic.
- Currently only OTT brands and banks are permitted to send A2P SMS traffic into Syria, and only OTP and transactional message content is allowed.
- Message content must reflect the sending brand: for example, a password message for a company must be sent with that brand's sender address; traffic not following these guidelines will be blocked by the operator.
- There are no current restrictions on betting or gambling content.
- Meta traffic (WhatsApp, Facebook) may only be sent directly from Meta to the exclusive suppliers in Syria (MTN Syria and Syriatel); no other aggregator or wholesale route may carry it.
